ABOUT MEAstro-ImagerThis webpage will highlight my recent foray into EAA or Electronic Assisted Astronomy. I started out 48 years ago with a simple 60 mm Tasco Refractor and my interest grew from there. Over the years, I invested time and money into acquiring bigger telescopes and better accessories. In the last 10 years, my interest has grown by leaps and bounds. Just last year, I took a step into the imaging world by first buying the Celestron Neximage 5 and after getting good results with it, I took a bigger step and bought the ZWO ASI224MC OSC (One Shot Color) camera and shortly after that, bought the OC Telescope Revolution Imager. Soon, I acquired the ZWO ASI294MC camera, which I took the image on the right with this new camera.

Recent Projects
My most recent projects include imaging the Abell Planetary Nebula catalog of 84 objects. Also imaging the Planetary nebula and SN Remnants catalog of 1457 objects, Hickson Galaxy and Abell Galaxy catalog and the Arp Peculiar Galaxy catalog, along with the Sharpless nebula catalog, NGC and IC catalogs of deep sky objects.
All the following pictures were taken by me with my equipment and cameras.

I am always on the Cloudy Nights website, posting in forums such as Astro Video Gallery, Equipment forum, Nexstar Telescopes forum and many others. I am passionate about my geek tech as well as my imaging results. I belong to the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club and a past member, VP and President of the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston. I do my imaging from a local site in Weston, MA in a Red/Orange zone, West Boxford public library site, Boy Scouts park in Boxford, MA and on top of Bailey Hill, in Rumney, NH.
Please visit Cloudy Nights and join the discussions!
Please visit the NSAAC website. If you live in Eastern or North Eastern MA, consider joining a great club!
Please check out this site, Shadows and Substance. It is a very informative site with lots of great graphics, especially when it comes to comets and eclipses!
Check out this website for the latest data and ephemerides on the planets, comets, satellites, asteroids and 3D orbits.
I also visit daily the Space Weather webpage for information regarding Solar phenomena and fireball sightings.
And the great Astronomy Picture of the Day website every day too!
Night after Night
In addition to my deep sky object imaging, I also enjoy taking pics of the planets in all their glory when they are in the right spot in the sky. Shown below are images of crescent Venus, taken at noon time; Mars at it's greatest opposition, May, 2016; the Supermoon of November 14, 2016; Jupiter at closest approach in March, 2016; Saturn at opposition in June, 2016; Uranus at opposition 2016 and Neptune at opposition 2016.

The above image above is the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, taken on December 21, 2020. It was the first time in 800 years that a favorable apparition came to be. The next opportunity will be in 2040 with an even better apparition in 2080.
